With the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Marcus Rashford and the signings of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, there has already been a significant change in the FC Barcelona attack. Meanwhile, further changes are also expected, as Julian Alvarez remains the top priority target for the Blaugranes, and the future of Ferran Torres is also quite uncertain.
In such a context, there are several interesting forwards in Europe who are hopeful of securing a move to the Catalan club, especially as they still have to replace Lewandowski and might also have to find a replacement for Torres if he ends up leaving.
One such player who was hopeful that the stars would align for a move to Barcelona this summer was the Hoffenheim forward Fisnik Asllani. A few weeks ago, he was close to joining another Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund, but he put negotiations for this transfer on hold when reports of PSG’s interest in Torres emerged.
However, it seems like the Kosovar striker is not going to wait any longer for the Blaugranes, as SPORT cites Sky Germany to claim that he has already reached an agreement with another Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig, and this transfer is expected to be finalized soon.
The forward had a €29 million release clause in his contract with Hoffenheim, and he is expected to keep another affordable release clause in his new contract with Leipzig to ensure there are no difficulties if he intends to join an even bigger club in the coming years.
Fisnik Asllani has never hidden his love for Barcelona, and recently again posted pictures of him in a Blaugrana jersey as a child. The Catalans remain committed to the pursuit of Julian Alvarez this summer, but hopefully, the Kosovar forward will continue to grow at his new club, and realize his dream of playing for Barcelona in the coming few years.
