Leeds United are eyeing bargains before the one September deadline, with free agent Harry Wilson in. According to Leeds Live, Daniel Farke spoke before Brighton about his ambition and pushing on. Five expiring-contract targets fit that brief.
Harvey Elliott, 23, can play off the right or as a No 10 and enters his final Liverpool year after a nine-game Aston Villa loan. Villa’s £35 million clause needed 10, so his price may have dipped. Emiliano Buendia, 29, spent 2024/25 at Bayer Leverkusen, then scored and assisted in Villa’s Europa League final win over SC Freiburg, and with a year left could be revisited by Farke, who managed him at Norwich.
Takumi Minamino offers a No 10 option, the former RB Salzburg forward owning six Austrian titles and a 2020 Premier League medal. The 31-year-old missed the World Cup for Japan after a December ACL at Monaco but could be ready around September. Transfermarkt values him at about £8 million.
With Karl Darlow joining Manchester United and Illan Meslier moving to Arsenal, Leeds need another goalkeeper while closing in on James Trafford. Samuel Soares, 24, has backed up Anatoliy Trubin at Benfica and is in his final year. He is rumoured to cost about £4 million.
Bernd Leno, 34, offers Premier League know-how after four seasons at Arsenal and as Fulham’s No one. He is in his final year and has been linked with Stuttgart. Transfermarkt lists his value at around £5 million.
