Guadalajara’s great season is largely due to the outstanding individual form of several of its players, a situation that did not go unnoticed by the head coach of the Mexican National Team, Javier Aguirre. In his effort to have the best Mexican players available, he included five Chivas players in his most recent call-up for the final training camp ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Raúl “Tala” Rangel, Luis Romo, Brian Gutiérrez, Roberto “Piojo” Alvarado, and Armando “Hormiga” González are the Chivas players who will report to the national team at the Mexican Football Federation’s High Performance Center starting May 6, where they will train under “Vasco” Aguirre in preparation for upcoming friendly matches.
