Chelsea are considering allowing Liam Delap to leave the club this summer after an underwhelming debut campaign.

Delap signed for Chelsea from relegated Ipswich Town last summer for a fee of £30m. The 23-year-old had scored 12 league goals for The Tractor Boys last season but has managed just one on 17 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

Only nine of those appearances have come from the start, with fellow summer signing Joao Pedro preferred under both Liam Rosenior and former manager Enzo Maresca.

Injuries have also impacted his debut season and Chelsea are now assessing his immediate future. While a loan next season is considered the most probable outcome, Caught Offside claim permanent bids could also be evaluated.

Manchester United, who were keen to sign Delap last summer, remain interested in the former Manchester City academy graduate, as the Red Devils seek competition for Benjamin Sesko.

Newcastle United also expressed interest in Delap last summer, and the Magpies could seek a striker signing this summer amid uncertainty surrounding Nick Woltemade. Everton, Brighton, and Sunderland are also on red-alert.
