Last night, Florentino Perez dropped a bomb that has sent waves through the football community and seemingly could be enough to see him win the upcoming presidential election.
Despite stating that he would announce his star signing on the night, Perez played the perfect marketing ploy by keeping the suspense.
Instead, he teased the name, revealing that it was a superstar signing on the level of Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane transfers, who is currently playing in the top leagues and in the UEFA Champions League.
He said the official offer will go out on Tuesday, but his idea of keeping the suspense open is working wonders and has seen him win back the spotlight.

At this point, no leaks are suggesting a particular player is the one Perez is targeting, but Fabrizio Romano has analysed the market to draw up a list of five players who could be the target.
Looking at players in the €150 million bracket, the Italian journalist names the following players to be potential targets for Real Madrid: Vitinha, Joao Neves, Desire Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Jamal Musiala.
Surprisingly, four out of the five players star in Luis Enrique’s back-to-back UCL winning side and it is clear that Perez highly rates the players in Paris. Musiala, meanwhile, currently stars for Bayern Munich.
What is also clear from the list is that Perez is only targeting midfield and attacking targets and that he sees the biggest value addition to be a creative profile.

As further confirmed by the Italian journalist, the €150 million mark is just the starting bid Real Madrid will offer for the said target and that negotiations can take it further.
It will, thus, likely be the most expensive signing in the club’s history if it goes through.
Having already secured agreements with Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konate, Perez has made a statement of intent in the summer and both will likely be announced after the elections.
The club’s transfer window, however, is anything but closed. The announcement of the blockbuster signing likely opens the door to a long negotiation, while the club are also eyeing further defensive recruitments, including Josko Gvardiol.
