Flamengo are close to agreeing a new contract with Bruno Henrique through 2027, with no change to his salary and signing expected next week, according to Globo.com.
The forward will reach nine years at the club by the end of the deal. Formal contact was made late last month and talks have progressed smoothly, with only minor details outstanding.
Flamengo did not propose a pay cut and the player’s representatives saw no logic in one. In his 2024 renewal he became one of the squad’s top earners, though several team-mates now make almost three times more.
The shared desire to continue mirrors 2024, despite a recent pubalgia that sidelined him for a month and a half. The club did not question renewing.
At 35, he is expected to stay until he signals a wish to retire. He considered doing so at the end of this year, but it is not his priority now.
His bond with Flamengo drives the extension. A dressing-room leader, he remains influential on and off the pitch and is seen as a standard-bearer for the club’s values.
Since arriving in 2019, Bruno Henrique has won 17 trophies and, alongside Arrascaeta, is the most decorated player in the club’s history. This season he has 11 appearances, three goals and two assists.
