Flamengo finish March unbeaten, lift Carioca and climb into Brasileirão’s G-4 | OneFootball

Flamengo ended March on the up, unbeaten across the month and conceding only one goal.

The run closed with a 1-1 draw at Corinthians at Neo Química Arena. According to Coluna Do Fla, the calendar now pauses for the FIFA window between 23 and 31 March.

The club also lifted the Campeonato Carioca, edging Fluminense on penalties after a draw in normal time.

They began the league with a draw, a defeat and one win in the first three rounds, conceding four. In March they won three and drew one, scored nine and let in one.

That improvement carried them into the G-4. They have 14 points with a game in hand on Palmeiras, 1st, São Paulo, 2nd, and Fluminense, 3rd.

March also brought change in the dugout. Filipe Luís was dismissed after the 8-0 win over Madureira, and Leonardo Jardim has yet to taste defeat.

April features league, Libertadores and Copa do Brasil commitments. On Thursday, they visit Red Bull Bragantino in Bragança Paulista.
