Léo Pereira has received his first Brazil call-up for March’s FIFA window, and Flamengo have publicly congratulated their defender.
The club said in a social media post that, after his free-kick stunner against Botafogo, he had been rewarded with national team recognition, adding that they hoped it would be the first of many.
It will be his first opportunity to wear the famous yellow. He will look to carry his Flamengo form into the national set-up as he tries to secure a place at the 2026 World Cup.
Danilo and Alex Sandro are also on Carlo Ancelotti’s list for the upcoming friendlies. The trio will be available to face France on 26 March and Croatia on 31 March in the United States.
Following the call-ups, Flamengo return to action on Thursday 19 March in the seventh round of the Brasileirão, hosting Remo at the Maracanã at 20:00 Brasília time.
