Rio de Janeiro will be rocking well into the night as Brazilian giant Flamengo confirmed their 2025 Brasileirão title triumph with a one-sided 1-0 win over Ceará.
It's been a fantastic year for Rubro-Negro under former Brazilian international defender Filipe Luís, who has guided the club to its 8th league title in the competition's history, and a first since 2020.
Their number of league titles remains disputed, however, with Flamengo claiming nine titles in their history despite a standing ruling by the Supreme Federal Court, which lists Sport Recife as the title winner in 1987.

Led by Uruguayan star and Brasileirão assist leader Giorgian de Arrascaeta, Flamengo have been the talk of Brazilian football after Filipe Luís initially helped the club lift Copa do Brasil honours in 2024, the first major piece of silverware of his budding managerial career.
Since then, Flamengo exploded on both the domestic and international fronts, impressing at the 2025 Club World Cup and banking Supercopa do Brasil and Campeonato Carioca honors, only to go on and oust rivals Palmeiras in the Copa Libertadores final last weekend.
Verdão, who were also in action tonight against Atlético Mineiro and secured a 3-0 win, were five points adrift of Flamengo coming into Matchday 37 and looking for a bit of help if they were to push for a dramatic table-topping finish on the final day.
With Luis now firmly viewed as one of the brightest managerial talents on the continent, his next chance to guide his side to further honours will come at the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
