Former Flamengo forward Leandro Machado has been dismissed as sports secretary in Santo Amaro da Imperatriz, Greater Florianópolis, amid criminal allegations.

Police in Santa Catarina have not released details, but said a minor is involved.

The Sports Secretariat continues its schedule, with services maintained for residents.

Leandro, 49, represented Brazil and clubs including Grêmio, Santos, Sport, Valencia (ESP) and Sporting (POR). He was nicknamed Piu-Piu.

With Flamengo, he won the 1999 Copa Mercosul, the 2001 Copa dos Campeões and three consecutive Rio state titles in 1999, 2000 and 2001. He made 102 appearances and scored 39 goals. He retired in 2008 with Sport Recife at the age of 32.
