Flamengo ‘to delay’ Luiz Henrique move after internal decision | OneFootball

Flamengo’s pursuit of Luiz Henrique has been cooled after an internal decision, with the club reluctant to advance at the current price, according to RTI Esportes.

Zenit want about €40 million, R$238 million at current rates, for the 25-year-old forward. Director José Boto considers that figure unrealistic for Flamengo and has chosen to direct those funds towards three signings in the next window.

The club views such an outlay as a financial risk, so Boto is keeping a conservative stance on the deal.

Luiz Henrique left Botafogo after being named “Rei das Américas” in 2024 and now plays for Zenit.

Across two seasons with Zenit he has made 35 appearances, scoring four and assisting four. Flamengo already have right-sided options in Luiz Araújo, Gonzalo Plata, Jorge Carrascal and Lucas Paquetá, who can also fill the role.
