Flamengo ‘to loan’ Rayan Lucas to Athletic after accepting offer | OneFootball

Flamengo have accepted Athletic’s offer to take 21-year-old midfielder Rayan Lucas on loan, and are awaiting a response from the player’s representatives before any move is authorised. According to Coluna Do Fla, the parties are reviewing terms of the proposed agreement.

Athletic are competing in the 2026 Brasileirão Serie B and sit 11th with 28 points after 20 matches, a record of 6 wins, 10 draws and 4 losses. Flamengo view the loan positively, believing regular minutes in Serie B could aid his development.

Rayan returned to Flamengo in July after a season-long loan at Sporting (POR). On his return he did not convince Leonardo Jardim’s staff.

He travelled with the squad for their mid-season work in Portugal, featuring only against Lausanne Sport (SUI). He also appeared in the friendly with Olimpia (PAR) at Mané Garrincha in Brasília.

The midfielder is under contract until the end of 2028 and has a €50 million release clause, valued at R$ 292 million at current rates. Flamengo are under no pressure to sell and believe he could still contribute during the season.
