Barcelona tasted their first defeat of 2025 as they slumped to a 3-1 loss at the hands of Borussia Dortmund.

Although the loss had very little impact on the fate of the tie, with Barcelona qualifying for the Champions League semifinals thanks to a 5-3 aggregate win, it did leave a psychological impact on the team.

The performances of select players, such as Ronald Araujo, were also deeply concerning, which is perhaps why Hansi Flick has taken a more relaxed approach to his training regime after the Dortmund defeat.

Barcelona train lightly ahead of Celta clash

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona returned to training on Wednesday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva, but the session was a low-intensity one.

Furthermore, the manager gave the players a day off on Thursday, leading up to the weekend clash against Celta Vigo.

The starters from the Dortmund clash were involved in basic recovery routines, including light jogging and gym work, while the substitutes and unused players participated in a more full-fledged session.

Those who were not involved in the game or only featured briefly underwent higher-intensity drills to maintain match rhythm.

This will be followed by a rest on Thursday, which was awarded by Hansi Flick to his players – a move that was warranted amid a gruelling fixture list.

The team will regroup on Friday for their only training session ahead of Saturday’s La Liga encounter against Celta Vigo.

This will be a must-win game for the Catalans, who are leading the table by a margin of only four points, with a Clasico still yet to be played.

With minimal training in the build-up to this game, it will be interesting to see how the Blaugrana will react, especially against a Celta team that knows how to frustrate their opponents.
