Real Madrid supporters may not have to wait much longer for the club’s first major move of the summer transfer window.
With the presidential elections entering their decisive stage, Florentino Perez has provided one of the strongest indications yet regarding Real Madrid’s plans for next season, revealing that the club’s first signing will be officially announced this week.
Speaking in an interview with El Español, the long-serving president touched on several key topics, including the transfer market, the managerial situation, the election campaign and the promises he is making to members ahead of Sunday’s vote.
Most notably, Perez suggested that a significant addition to the squad is already lined up and ready to be unveiled.
“Everyone knows that if I remain president of Real Madrid, the best players in the world will play here.”
When asked directly about summer reinforcements, Perez left little room for doubt regarding his intentions.

“Of course. This Thursday I will announce Real Madrid’s first major signing for next season. Everyone knows what my sporting project is: to have the best players and keep winning.”
The revelation immediately raises expectations around the Santiago Bernabeu, particularly given the uncertainty surrounding several areas of the squad.
While Perez did not reveal the identity of the player in question, his comments strongly suggest that negotiations have already been completed and that only the official presentation remains.
“We’ll have names announced before Sunday, don’t worry. People do not doubt it; people know me. I’ve always generated excitement throughout my 23 years as president.
“Those who know me know that the best players will be at Real Madrid and that we’ll win another Champions League title.”
The president also indicated that supporters will not have to wait much longer for clarity regarding the managerial position.

When questioned about the possibility of Jose Mourinho returning to the club, Perez chose not to address the Portuguese coach directly but confirmed that an announcement is approaching.
“I will announce who the new Real Madrid manager will be shortly.”
The comments arrive amid growing tension between Perez and presidential challenger Enrique Riquelme, who has recently questioned several aspects of the current administration.
Responding to Riquelme’s proposal to appoint Raul Gonzalez as sporting director, Perez said,
“I think it’s fine, though I don’t know if he’s spoken to him. Agents are calling me, saying that (Riquelme) is talking to players and telling them: ‘Don’t say no’.
“I don’t believe a word he says. One of the signings he mentioned was Rodri, but obviously he hasn’t sealed the deal.”
Beyond transfers and managerial decisions, Perez is also attempting to strengthen the bond between the club and its members.
One of the flagship proposals of his campaign is the creation of an exclusive annual shirt that will only be available to official members, reinforcing his message that Real Madrid will remain a member-owned institution.
“An exclusive official shirt featuring a unique badge reserved for the club’s true owners.
“It will be a shirt that cannot be found anywhere else on the planet.
“We want to foster a sense of belonging to Real Madrid in this way because no one in the world, except for members, will be able to get hold of it,” he concluded.
