Fluminense are facing rising pressure before Sunday’s meeting with Santos, with supporters protesting at CT Carlos Castilho on Thursday afternoon after a Copa Libertadores defeat.

According to Diario Do Peixe, around 45 members of organised groups gathered at the training ground entrance, waiting for the squad to arrive for an afternoon session. Some players were approached as they entered.

Defender Juan Pablo Freytes was a principal focus, having recently also commented on Neymar ahead of the Santos meeting. Samuel Xavier, Bernal, Millán and Guga were also questioned during the demonstration. Complaints were directed at both the squad and the board.

Club officials then received fan representatives for a meeting with the president, directors and senior players, an attempt to calm tensions before a decisive stretch of the season.

This is Fluminense’s most delicate spell since Luis Zubeldía took charge at the end of 2025. The side are without a win in four, with two draws and two defeats, across the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Copa Libertadores.

The match at Vila Belmiro is scheduled for 16:00 on Sunday in the 12th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. Fluminense seek a response, while Santos aim to use home advantage to move away from the lower reaches of the table.
