Fluminense face Flamengo on Sunday in the fourth round of the Campeonato Carioca, but new signing Savarino will not debut.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the Venezuelan was not registered in time in the CBF’s BID, so his first appearance will come in the Brasileirão opener against Grêmio on Wednesday 28.

Savarino joined from Botafogo after several seasons there. Fluminense paid 4.5 million, about R$ 28 million at current rates, plus the inclusion of young midfielder Wallace Davi.

Head coach Zubeldía will also miss the touchline, having returned from medical leave on Friday 23, so assistant Maxi Cuberas will lead the team. Cano, Soteldo and Hércules are with the medical department.

Flamengo will be without Danilo, Ayrton Lucas, Saúl and De La Cruz, who are being monitored by the medical staff. Arrascaeta is following a pre-season plan and will also miss the derby.

Kick-off is at 18:00 Brasília time at the Maracanã.
