Former Barcelona striker Pau Victor has offered his opinion on the current situation at the club, while also reflecting on his own progress in Portugal with Sporting Braga.
Speaking in an interview with Jijantes, the former Barcelona forward began by explaining the importance of Raphinha in Hansi Flick’s system, especially in the wake of the Brazilian’s recent injury setback.
Addressing the impact of his loss, Victor explained the emotional state of his former teammate.
“Raphinha’s absence is one of the most significant losses Barça could face,” he said, also emphasising the emotional toll his former teammate might be feeling.
“I haven’t spoken to him; I’ve chosen not to send him any messages. Knowing him, he must be devastated and really pissed off.”
However, he went on to explain that the team does have depth to rely on. “Barça has the resources to replace him.”
Despite no longer being at the club, Victor continues to follow Barcelona closely.

He admitted that his connection to the team remains strong, and he keeps up with every match.
“I don’t miss a single Barça game; I’m a Culé, and I’m not going to miss them. People here tell me I’m sick because I watch them all,” he explained with a laugh.
Reflecting on the season, Victor pointed out that Barcelona’s start did not meet expectations, largely due to key injuries.
However, he believes the team has improved significantly in recent weeks.
“It certainly didn’t start the way people expected; Iñigo’s injury really hurt us.”
However, he now sees a clear improvement: “The team looks great to me now. You can’t ask for much more.
“They’re competing well, and I know the atmosphere in the locker room is good,” he concluded.
