One former Blues defender has been explaining why he’s been left feeling pretty bored by watching Chelsea in recent times.

However, he says that this season it has been very different for him and he has finally felt excited watching his former club play football again.

We often hear from former Chelsea players and it’s always good to see what they’ve got to see. John Obi Mikel is one player we hear from a lot. But I don’t recall hearing much from former defender Frank Sinclair, who played for the club during the 90s.

But today, we are hearing from Sinclair, and he’s got some interesting things to say about current Chelsea and Enzo Maresca.

Speaking on talkSPORT in quotes picked up on X, the former Chelsea right back said:

“I said 18 months ago that if we were patient with these players, they’ll learn the game and they’ll learn the Premier League. And I can see that happening. I think we’ve brought some great players in this season, really attacking football.

“And for the last couple of seasons before this season, I’ve been pretty bored watching Chelsea. It’s not got me off my seat. But this season, it’s been fantastic, and rightly so, they’re campaigning at the right end of the league.”
