Former Bolton loanee returns to Dutch football to join PEC Zwolle | OneFootball

Former Bolton winger Ibrahim Cissoko has returned to Dutch football. The 23-year-old winger has left Ligue 1 side Toulouse to sign for PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie. Cissoko, who was on loan at Bolton in League 1 last season, has signed a contract with PEC Zwolle through to 2030.

Cissoko came through the NEC Nijmegen academy and played 32 games for the club, scoring three goals. His talent was spotted by Toulouse who signed him in the summer of 2023, with Cissoko going on to play 15 games and scoring once. He never added to those numbers. Instead, he spent the next two seasons on loan in England. For some of the 2024/2025 season he played for Plymouth Argyle, but after 15 appearances and three goals finished the season with Sheffield Wednesday.

Last season, Cissoko was loaned out to Bolton. He had a decent season for the League One side, the best of his career so far. In 34 games for Bolton the winger scored six goals and provided one assist. He now returns to PEC Zwolle with more experience and the chance to be a key player for a side that finished 15th in the Eredivisie last season.
