Former Manchester United forward Anthony Martial set for Mexico transfer | OneFootball

Anthony Martial (29) is set to make the move from AEK Athens to Mexican club Monterrey, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.

The Frenchman joined AEK Athens last summer. It came following the expiry of his contract at Manchester United and a few difficult years at Old Trafford for the former AS Monaco forward. He began life in Greece well, netting nine goals in all competitions last season.

However, he fell out of favour during the off-season and has only made one substitute appearance this season, which came during the club’s first UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier in July.

As per Foot Mercato, AEK Athens have been desperate to offload Martial. It was initially expected that he would sign for Mexican club Pumas UNAM, however, he is now all set for a move to Monterrey. AEK Athens have already given the green light for the former Manchester United man to travel to Mexico to undergo his medical and sign his contract.
