Manchester United are set to benefit from the transfer of their former midfielder Maxi Oyedele.

United headed into the summer transfer window with a very limited budget after missing out on European football.

As such, the Red Devils were expected to aggressively sell their fringe players to fund a squad revamp for Ruben Amorim.

Still, Ineos are yet to sell any player despite having publicly pushed Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho out of the first-team fold.

All four forwards have been told to not train with the first-team players at Carrington.

Interestingly, United have raised over £10 million this summer due to sell-on clauses they included in previous departures.

Manchester United to earn over £2m from Oyedele’s transfer

Anthony Elanga’s move to Newcastle United from Nottingham Forest saw United earn around £6m. Meanwhile, Alvaro Carreras’ return to Real Madrid should see the Mancunians take home around £7.6m. Now, United are set to bank a further £2.1m.

Chelsea’s sister club RC Strasbourg Alsace have reportedly reached an agreement to complete the signing of Oyedele from Legia Warsaw.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Ligue 1 side have triggered the €6m release clause in his contract.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who is known for his ball-winning ability and tenacity, joined the Ekstraklasa outfit in the summer of 2024.

Early in the season, his impressive performances in Warsaw led to a surprise call-up to the Poland senior team for their Nations League fixtures against Portugal and Croatia.

Now, he has earned a promising move to Ligue 1. The Italian journalist claims Oyedele underwent medical tests on Tuesday and will sign a contract until 2031 later tonight.

United included a 40 per cent sell-on clause in their agreement with Legia last summer.
