Wolves are set to add Kieran Trippier on a free after his Newcastle United release, with a verbal two-year agreement in place. They are also assessing further free options for an automatic promotion push.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the former Atletico Madrid and Spurs defender drew interest from Premier League and Saudi Pro League clubs.

Left back Dennis Cirkin was linked last summer after starring in Sunderland’s play-off triumph. Injury troubles then saw him lose favour as the club qualified for Europe, and he is out of contract. He could be a smart pick-up for the Championship.

Axel Tuanzebe, 28, made 14 Premier League starts for Burnley last season after a one-year move from Ipswich Town. He helped Ipswich win promotion in 2024/25 and made 22 appearances the following campaign, and could depart without a new deal.

Solly March’s Brighton exit was confirmed last week after more than 300 appearances across 14 seasons. Injuries have interrupted recent years, but at 31 he retains quality, and Premier League interest has already emerged.

Burnley midfielder Josh Laurent is also out of contract. The versatile 31-year-old has significant Championship pedigree, was pivotal in Burnley’s promotion two seasons ago, featured heavily in the Premier League, and will be in demand this summer.
