Having boasted that Gtech Community Stadium matches had been averaging 4.83 goals, another five arrived in Saturday’s clash with Leicester.
An entertaining 4-1 victory ensures that Brentford still top the home league table, after dropping just two points in seven games.
Entering Gameweek 13, no player had accumulated more home points than Bryan Mbeumo (£7.8m) - however, this week was a blank, having not been given the assist for goal number two. Officially, it’s because a slight defensive touch diverted his pass from intended target Yoane Wissa (£6.1m).
By that stage, the latter had quickly wiped out Leicester’s first-half lead, scoring from close range. That’s six goals, two assists and 50 FPL points from only five home games.
However, the headlines undoubtedly belong to hat-trick hero Kevin Schade (£5.1m). With team-mates in such good form, getting into Thomas Frank’s line-up has been tough for the German international. This was his first league start since Gameweek 8.
But he certainly made the most of this one, grabbing three goals and an assist to become FPL’s top scorer for Gameweek 13.
Not content with setting up Wissa’s equaliser, he swept home the diverted Mbeumo cutback and made it 3-1 in first-half stoppage time.
A cute pass from Mikkel Damsgaard (£5.0m) allowed him to dink over the goalkeeper from a tight angle, before later meeting Nathan Collins’ (£4.5m) through ball to calmly place a low, left-footed finish across Mads Hermansen (£4.5m).
Midweek opponents Aston Villa are winless in eight matches across all competitions, which could tempt some managers towards the barely-picked Schade.
Just 8,086 of more than 10 million squads have him - but congratulations to the 15 managers who handed him their captain’s armband!
The other player to bag a hat-trick was Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert (£5.3m), creating history by having them all be from the penalty spot.
Elsewhere, there was yet another Erling Haaland (£15.0m) struggle, as highly-selected Bukayo Saka (£10.3m), Cole Palmer (£11.0m) and Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) combined for 45 points. Get ready for this heavyweight midfield to become even more template heading into this chaotic December.
Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford (£6.9m) and Joshua Zirkzee (£6.6m) also had fun, evenly splitting the Red Devils’ four goals versus Everton.
Midweek mayhem is coming, so managers must remember to lock in their Gameweek 14 teams by 6pm on Tuesday evening.
This doesn’t leave much time for price changes, but Saka seems set to be the most-bought individual after 31 points from two matches.
Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson (£8.1m) is next, despite being one yellow card away from suspension.
Meanwhile, many have been forced to sell injured Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate (£5.3m), as millions await availability updates on Gabriel (£6.2m), Alexander Isak (£8.5m) and Dominic Solanke (£7.6m).
It’s difficult to go against Salah’s staggering nine double-digit hauls from 13 but Palmer is up against Southampton - the team that’s conceded the second-most attempts (235) and shots on target (80).
Chelsea’s attacker ranks second for chances created (34) and joint-third for shots (43).
