Bayern Munich center-back Dayot Upamecano has fueled speculation about his future amid growing interest from Inter Milan.
Speaking to L’Equipe via FCInterNews, the 27-year-old opened the door to a potential summer exit.
Upamecano, who swapped RB Leipzig for Munich in the summer of 2021, has entered the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena.
However, he has been Bayern’s defensive mainstay under Vincent Kompany over the past 12 months.
Therefore, it’s only reasonable to expect the Bavarians to accelerate contract renewal talks in the coming months.
Otherwise, Dayot Upamecano could be on his way out at the end of the season.
Despite his ups and downs over the years, there’s no shortage of suitors.
Furthermore, Serie A title hopefuls Inter are among the Frenchman’s top admirers.
Indeed, the San Siro giants will undergo a significant defensive overhaul next summer.
In addition to Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi, Yann Bisseck could also leave the club.
As such, Beppe Marotta is on the lookout for defensive reinforcements.

Upamecano ticks all the boxes for the type of player the Italian heavyweights are looking to recruit.
Indeed, he boasts a wealth of experience in European football, both domestically and internationally.
Moreover, signing a player of Upamecano’s quality without spending a dime is an opportunity Inter cannot afford to miss.
However, everything depends on Bayern’s ability to convince their star defender to put pen to paper on a new contract.
Asked whether there would be a quick resolution of his future, Upamecano replied: “I hope so. My agent is taking care of it, and we’ll make the right decision.
I’m well informed. And I’m focused on this season and on my goals with the club and the national team. I’m not thinking about the future.”
Then, he admitted he has always felt comfortable in Munich.
“I’ve always said I feel good at Bayern. I have an excellent coach, and I get along well with my teammates.”
Finally, he addressed recent speculation linking him with Paris Saint-Germain.
“I’m calm,” Upamecano added. “I have a contract with Bayern, and I have my goals.
