Francesco Totti sat down with Fabrizio Romano on the Betsson Sport platform to talk about all things football.
The Italian legend discussed his wide-spanning career at AS Roma. But he also talked about various other things including a potential move to Real Madrid and even Nico Paz.
When asked about one player he would like to see at AS Roma, Totti didn’t hesitate naming Nico Paz.
“I can’t think of a specific name. I would choose a young player like Nico Paz. I like him,” said the Roma legend.
A product of the Real Madrid youth academy, Paz has been making waves since joining Como last summer. The youngster has been involved in as many as 12 goals this season, impressing onlookers with his chance creation and overall creativity in the final third.
“Real Madrid made the best choice. He will return to Madrid and become one of the best players in the world,” he added.

Although Nico Paz is no longer a Real Madrid player, the club are more than keen on bringing back the playmaker by activating a buyback clause, which is worth around €8 million.
Francesco Totti was a one-club player, who played for AS Roma for 25 years. However, at one point, he was close to leaving Roma, with the likes of Real Madrid, Milan and Inter interested in his services.
Totti confirmed the interest from Real Madrid but admitted that then AS Roma-chairman Franco Sensi has no desire to sell him.
“Did I ever speak with Florentino Perez? No, I didn’t. The club spoke to him because he had an excellent relationship with Sensi. He didn’t want to sell me to anyone. He would have done anything to keep me,” he said.
Totti even revealed that Milan and Inter had shown the most concrete interest in his services. But Sensi was having none of it.
“Under his supervision, he would never have accepted my transfer. He considered me his son. Milan and Inter put more pressure than anyone else. However, after the first meeting with the president, they withdrew from the deal,” he concluded.
