Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt set a new historic marker en route to a 1-0 Europa League win over Czech side Slavia Prague.
Frankfurt came into matchday four with a chance to climb level on points (10) at the top of the table depending on results, and have done just that thanks to a single goal from budding Egyptian star forward Omar Marmoush.
The 25-year-old, who has been linked to Premier League clubs of late, was once again the difference maker for Die Adler, who remain undefeated in continental play after banking 10 points from a possible 12 while sitting level with both Galatasaray and Athletic Club.
But it was a historic Europan night once again for Frankfurt, with Marmoush’s goal making it 17 consecutive matches where SGE have found the back of the net in the Europa League, beating their own previous record of 16.
Having already recently made the final of the competition back in 2021-22, Frankfurt will be hoping to continue their current European form under head trainer Dino Toppmöller to equal – or better – their previous accomplishment.
Flying high.
