Bayern Munich made it 12 wins in a row with a 3-0 defeat of RB Leipzig as the Frauen-Bundesliga returned from a month-long winter break, with two fixtures postponed by the weather.

According to BuLi News, heavy snow at Bayern Campus made Sunday’s win one of their sternest of the run.

Momoko Tanikawa put Bayern ahead early from the spot after a handball. After the restart, Kyra Spitzner put through her own net five minutes after coming on, then Jovana Damnjanovic claimed her first home goal of the season.

Ivorian international Bernadette Amani debuted in the second half, while Edna Imade was unused after her recall from Real Sociedad. Bayern now have three away games before hosting second-placed Wolfsburg on 22 February.

Wolfsburg’s trip to Carl Zeiss Jena and Eintracht Frankfurt’s home game against Hoffenheim were postponed because of unplayable pitches. Frankfurt versus Hoffenheim will be played in the first midweek of February, and Wolfsburg will not resume league action until next Monday’s visit of Köln, with a game in hand likely to last until mid-March.

Bayer Leverkusen and Köln climbed into the top six. Leverkusen scored twice late at Union Berlin, substitute Kristin Kogel snatching an added-time winner to draw level on points with fourth-placed Hoffenheim. Köln beat Freiburg 1-0 with Martyna Wiankowska’s first-half penalty, while Hamburg edged SGS Essen as Sophie Hillebrand completed an injury-time brace. Third-placed Werder Bremen were held 1-1 by Nürnberg and missed the chance to trim the gap to Wolfsburg to five points.
