After months of trying to offload Jadon Sancho, Manchester United finally agreed on a loan exit to Aston Villa on deadline day.
INEOS were initially hoping to sell him permanently to the Villans, as they tried to agree a swap deal for Emiliano Martinez, but the Englishman had no desire to move to Birmingham on a permanent basis.
The ex-Manchester City academy graduate’s current United deal expires in 2026, and there are murmurs that the Red Devils could trigger the one -year extension option to try and raise a fee from his sale.
The England international wants to leave on a free, so that he can earn a sizeable signing-on fee and a higher wage packet as he would technically arrive as a free agent.
Many clubs are keen on him, as relayed previously by The Peoples Person, but the 25-year-old’s inconsistent form and behind-the-scenes drama has meant plenty of clubs are wary of going after him.
Which is why, as revealed by Teamtalk, Major League Soccer could be his next landing spot due to the less-pressurised environment in the United States, and the huge wages on offer.
Not to mention the lifestyle over in the States, and all of these are factors have appealed to the United attacker.
“Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho is drawing significant interest from Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs, sources have told TEAMtalk, as we reveal the key factor that will determine whether or not the Aston Villa loanee ends up in the USA.
“Sancho will become a free agent next summer when his loan deal with Villa and his contract with Man Utd run out. That will open the door to new opportunities for Sancho, with sources close to the English winger telling TEAMtalk that a move to the United States of America holds particular appeal to him.
“Known for its competitive yet less pressurised environment compared to Europe’s top tiers, MLS will offer Sancho a fresh start and the chance to revive his career.
“TEAMtalk understands that MLS teams are keen on Sancho’s flair and attacking prowess, viewing him as a marquee signing capable of boosting attendance and global visibility.
“MLS’s growing stature, bolstered by stars like Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, could provide Sancho with the platform to rediscover his best form away from the intense scrutiny of the Premier League.”
Despite United sanctioning separate loan spells to Borussia Dortmund, and Chelsea, none of the clubs opted to sign him permanently.
In fact, the Blues even paid the 20-time English league champions a penalty to escape their obligation due to form concerns and his excessive wage demands.
