Philippe Diallo, the FFF president, has confirmed to Le Figaro that he has successfully found Didier Deschamps’ successor as Les Bleus boss. Deschamps will leave his post after a 14-year tenure when France’s 2026 World Cup run ends.
Deschamps and the French squad will get an early feel of America next week as they will fly stateside for a couple of international friendly games held on the Eastern seaboard. France will face Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil on Thursday 26th March at Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium before locking horns with Colombia, three days later, at Landover’s Northwest Stadium.
As for Deschamps’ successor, Diallo previously revealed that he won’t be announced before the end of France’s involvement in the 2026 World Cup. However, and for the first time, he revealed that he has found Deschamps’ successor. “Yes, I know who will be France’s next manager“, Diallo said.
To succeed Deschamps, Real Madrid legend Zinédine Zidane is the leading candidate. L’Equipe previously revealed that the French FA has already started the groundwork to form Zidane’s backroom staff.
