The refereeing chiefs have upheld the decision to award Marseille's third goal in the 3-2 win over Lyon on Ligue 1's 24th matchday.

The federation announced in its weekly refereeing debrief on Wednesday that the on-field call stood, issuing its verdict two days after the home victory.

The review centred on the ball recovery that began the move, when Marseille defender Emerson Palmieri and Lyon's Tyler Morton made contact that went unpunished and was later questioned by Lyon.

It found that Marseille's No 33 committed no Law 12 offence at the start of the attacking phase. Palmieri was stable on his feet, made no deliberate action to impede his opponent, and the contact arose solely from Morton's run.

Accordingly, referee Jérôme Brisard's decision was consistent with the Laws of the Game. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang applied the finish moments later in stoppage time.
