Manchester United have been put in a disappointing position following the Premier League’s latest round of fixture changes.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Premier League confirmed the postponement of four of United’s December fixtures, creating a rather peculiar schedule for the month.

United will now have three 8pm kick-offs before Christmas.

Originally slated for Wednesday, December 3, the home game versus West Ham will instead take place on Thursday, December 4. This contest will kick off at 8pm.

Secondly, United’s trip to the Molineux has been moved from Saturday, December 6 to Monday, December 8. Just like the West Ham game, this is another 8pm meeting.

Ruben Amorim’s meeting with Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth is the third game which has been subjected to a change. The home clash has been shifted from Saturday, December 13 to two days later on Monday. Proceedings between the two sides begin at 8pm.

Finally, United’s match vs. Aston Villa has moved from Saturday 20 to Sunday, 21 December. It kicks off at 4.30 pm.

All four games will be shown live on Sky Sports.

United have warned that additional fixture changes may occur during the busy festive period and fans are advised to stay prepared.

The adjustments have not been well received by supporters, prompting a wave of criticism on social media.

These sentiments were echoed by The Athletic journalist Andy Mitten. Mitten wrote on X, “Outrageous switching of MUFC fixtures yet again, with more matches shifted to Monday night.”

“There’s ONE MUFC home game on a weekend in 12 weeks – and that may go even longer if late Dec games are shifted.”

Meanwhile, United are back in action on Sunday when they take on Liverpool at Anfield.
