According to VoetbalPrimeur and Ben Jacobs, there is a good chance that Jeremie Frimpong will leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer. The Dutch international arrives as an interesting transfer prospect because of his contract’s transfer clause.

According to the reporter, a Frimpong move is ‘obvious’. Several top European clubs are showing interest in the 24-year-old. Liverpool, among others, have some of the most concrete interest. The Reds are looking for a successor to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who announced his transfer-free departure this week and will soon be presented by Real Madrid.

Frimpong is also a bit cheaper than previously thought. His contract’s clause means that he can be picked up for 35 million euros, a pleasant reduction given the previously reported buyout sum of around forty million.

The Oranje international’s market value is estimated at fifty million. This season, Frimpong was again of great value to Die Werkself, providing four goals and twelve assists in 47 official matches.

Frimpong also made his mark in the Dutch national team. He was the star performer in March and turned heads during the first meeting with Spain in the quarter finals of the Nations League.
