After having decided to relieve coach Thiago Motta from his duties as the Bianconeri boss, Juventus turn towards former Verona and Lazio coach Igor Tudor to try and salvage what’s left from this unsatisfactory season.
The Croatian tactician has agreed to a short-term contract of €500k until the end of the season, with the option of extending depending whether Tudor is capable of qualifying for next year’s Champions League with nine matches remaining until the end of the season.
Although, Fabiana Della Valle of Milanese journal La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Old Lady are already weighing up their options for post Igor Tudor ahead of next season.
The Bianconeri’s dream would be to bring back coach Antonio Conte at the helm of the Turin based club, following his three consecutive league titles that he clinched with Juventus from 2011-2014.
However, with the Italian boss currently tied under contract with Napoli until 2027 and focused on trying to overtake Inter for the scudetto, it is seemingly not the right time to attempt commencing negotiations with Conte.
Nevertheless, Conte’s frustration with Napoli in regards to how Giuntoli and the board handled the January transfer market following the departure of star-winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia may persuade the former Inter boss to seek a new destination at the end of the campaign, potentially playing in Juventus’ favour.
In addition, Juventus would be eager to bring Roberto Mancini in the dug-out as the former Azzurri boss is currently out of a job after having parted ways with Saudi Arabia. Mancini was the Bianconeri’s primary candidate to replace coach Thiago Motta, but the former Inter, Manchester City, and Galataseray boss was unable to reach an agreement as he desired a permanent role.
Regardless, Mancini remains a profile that Juventus rate highly given this impressive CV, having won in Italy, abroad from the Serie A, and having guided the Italian national team to a Euro 2020 championship victory over England.
Furthermore, the Bianconeri are remaining their tabs open for former Milan boss Stefano Pioli, current Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini as it seems he is finishing his time with Atalanta at the end of the season, and former Real Madrid coach and Juventus legend Zinedine Zidane.
