Madrid are open to sanctioning moves for both players, who are seeking regular first-team game time. Negotiations over the structure of the transfers are progressing.

Fulham move would appeal to Madrid youngsters

Arbeloa handed Palacios his senior debut at Madrid last season. He has made seven appearances for the Spanish giants.

With Harry Wilson leaving Fulham this summer, they need attacking reinforcements. Palacios fits the bill.

His tactical intelligence and press-resistant passing would be ideally suited to the Premier League.

The young midfielder sustained a serious knee injury in 2024 but has since bounced back to establish himself as one of the leading lights for Madrid’s reserve team.

He enjoyed a fine 2025-26 season, scoring 15 times in 32 appearances for Castilla to demonstrate his goalscoring instincts from midfield.

Striker Gonzalo Garcia considers Arbeloa to be a mentor, and is prepared to follow him to England after a full season as a first-team regular.

Garcia, who was on target in Madrid’s most recent pre-season friendly, is being lined up as a direct replacement for Raul Jimenez.

Jimenez left Craven Cottage at the end of the 2025-26 season, returning to Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers for a second stint.

The Mexican international was Fulham’s first-choice striker, and the position is now up for grabs.

The 22-year-old striker has scored 13 goals in 21 starts for the club. The presence of Kylian Mbappé and Endrick makes his path to the first team more difficult.

Both players would add quality to Fulham’s squad, given the education they received at academy level.
