Leeds United left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson has addressed speculation over a move to Chelsea, stressing his focus remains on the national team at the World Cup after an impressive first season in England.
Expressen in Sweden reported the 27-year-old has been identified by Chelsea as a possible replacement for Real Madrid-bound Marc Cucurella, while Fotbolltransfers relayed his Wednesday press conference comments in which he declined to engage with the rumours.
He said interest can be a sign he is doing something right, but that all his attention is on the national team at present. He added he has worked with his agent for 10 years and has made clear that, while in camp, he wants to wear this shirt and concentrate on that.
Gudmundsson is in North America preparing to face Japan and team-mate Ao Tanaka at the tournament.
Leeds signed the former Lille defender for £10m last July on a four-year contract. With three years remaining, the club would be in a strong position if a sale were considered.
