Galatasaray directors continue to insist Hakan Calhanoglu wants ‘to end his career with us,’ but admit that might not be for a while, as Inter demand at least €20m for his sale.
The Turkish team was chasing him throughout the summer, buoyed by the fact he has supported the club since his childhood in Germany.
However, being a fan and making the dream move come true are two very different things, especially when playing for a side that reached the Champions League Final twice in the last three years.
The Turkish transfer deadline is not until September 12, and Fanatik claim Galatasaray will try to the last minute to get a deal done with Inter, even though that is extraordinarily unlikely.

They presented new signing Ilkay Gundogan to the media today, and as reported in the press conference, commented on those Calhanoglu rumours.
“Hakan wanted to come too, but the circumstances did not allow it. If not today, it will happen tomorrow. We are convinced Hakan will sooner or later wear the Galatasaray jersey.
“After all, he is still young. We respect and support his desire to end his career with us.”
Gundogan was able to make the move because he was a free agent after the end of his contract with Manchester City.
Calhanoglu, on the other hand, is under contract with Inter until June 2027.
