Sunderland supporters turned out in force as the Black Cats hosted Manchester United at the Stadium of Light in another major Premier League occasion on Wearside.
Sunderland Echo notes that Régis Le Bris’ side went into the game looking to respond after recent frustration and produced a strong performance against one of the division’s leading sides.

The better chances fell to the hosts. The atmosphere grew from the early stages as Sunderland pressed aggressively and pushed Manchester United back.
Former loanee Amad Diallo was warmly received by the home fans, drawing applause around the ground. A banner in the Roker End welcomed him back.
The colour, noise and emotion in the stands were captured throughout, with supporters once again playing their part at the Stadium of Light.
