In the victory against Atlético-MG, Corinthians had two important returns among the starters: Memphis Depay and Garro. The latter returned to the starting lineup after more than a month, recovering from a calf injury, and contributed with an assist for the only goal of the match, scored by Maycon.

The last time the number 8 started a match for Corinthians was in the victory against Athletico-PR, in the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil. He was one of the highlights of the qualification, with a goal scored and a secured spot in the semifinals of the competition, where Timão faces Cruzeiro.
