Manchester United claimed their third straight Premier League victory as they defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2 on Saturday at Old Trafford.

Matheus Cunha opened the scoring for United in the 24th minute, curling the ball past the goalkeeper.

Casemiro’s deflected effort doubled the Red Devils’ lead before Benjamin Sesko teed up Bryan Mbeumo for their third on the hour mark.

Brighton threatened to salvage a draw with late goals from Danny Welbeck and Charalampos Kostoulas, but Mbeumo fired home another in stoppage time to wrap up the win.

Football pundit Gary Neville praised Cunha and Mbeumo.

Neville told Sky Sports: “With Cunha and Mbeumo, the risk of those signings was removed because they had played in the Premier League before.

“They had the hunger to deliver at a different level. Mbeumo looks like he belongs. He looks hungry and wants to score goals.

“Cunha and Mbeumo will win a lot of matches for Manchester United.”

United have come under a lot of criticism for their poor recruitment over the years, but it looks like they have spent their money well this summer.

Mbeumo and Cunha have hit the ground running since joining the Red Devils.

The Cameroon international has started all nine Premier League matches for United, bagging four goals and an assist.

Cunha has featured in eight league fixtures and scored his first goal for the club against Brighton.

Goalkeeper Senne Lammens has also made an impressive start to life in Manchester, starting the last three games and keeping a clean sheet.
