Gaviões da Fiel urge fans to back Corinthians before cup final

Gaviões da Fiel, the main organized supporters group of Corinthians, has called on fans for a support rally for the team before their trip to Rio de Janeiro for the Copa do Brasil final. On Sunday, at 6 PM, the team from Parque São Jorge faces Vasco da Gama at the Maracanã, in a match that will decide the national competition title.

The support event for the team is scheduled for this Saturday, the 20th, starting at 12 PM, in front of the Dr. Joaquim Grava Training Center. The delegation's bus is set to depart at 2 PM. Gaviões advises fans to attend wearing the official organized supporters' shirt or a black Corinthians shirt.

“This Saturday (20th), starting at 12 PM, it's time to show once again what it means to be Corinthians. Let's gather in front of the Dr. Joaquim Grava Training Center to push the team towards the second battle in the quest for the Copa do Brasil title”, wrote Gaviões da Fiel in a social media post.

In a statement, the organized group also sent a direct message to the team. According to Gaviões, the players need to do their part at the Maracanã, as the Fiel will be present in the stands and millions more will be cheering, reinforcing the motto that on the field there are 11, but off the field there are millions.

In the first leg, played at the Neo Química Arena, Corinthians and Vasco drew 1-1. Now, with the Maracanã packed, the club from Parque São Jorge needs to win to claim their fourth Copa do Brasil trophy. In case of another draw, the title will be decided by penalty shootout.
