A number of AC Milan players have rightly been picked out and given a lot of praise following last night’s 3-1 victory away against Real Madrid.
It would be fair to say Milan were underdogs going into the game against the current European champions. However, goals from Malick Thiaw, Alvaro Morata and Tijjani Reijnders inspired Paulo Fonseca’s side to a memorable and ultimately deserved win.
Our player ratings from the game last night dished out plenty of plaudits following what was a brilliant performance, one that Fonseca also deserved credit for given his tactical tweaks.
Meanwhile, La Gazzetta (seen below) have published theirs too this morning, starting with the team and the coach’s ratings which are both an 8 out of 10.
The best player on the field in the eyes of the paper was Rafael Leao who was also awarded with an 8, while the Milan player who perhaps struggled a bit more was Emerson Royal, who gave away a penalty and got a 6.
Tijjani Reijnders was the man who scored the killer goal and his grade of 8 shows just how crucial he was in the middle of the park.
Then we come to a sea of 7.5 scores: Mike Maignan, Malick Thaw, Fikayo Tomori, Youssouf Fofana and Alvaro Morata all played their part in the victory.
Theo Hernandez, Yunus Musah and Christian Pulisic each got a 7, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek got a 6.5 off the bench and Tammy Abraham half a point less than that.
