Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck hailed his side’s performance in yesterday’s 3-1 home victory over Bologna.

Speaking to Radio RAI Uno via FCInterNews, the German star praised Inter’s winning start to the new calendar year.

Cristian Chivu enacted revenge on Vincenzo Italiano over last month’s heartbreaking Supercoppa Italiana exit.

Indeed, Bologna denied the 45-year-old a chance to win his first trophy in charge of the Nerazzurri.

However, Inter halted their three-game winless run in this fixture, putting the Rossoblu to the sword last night.

Piotr Zielinski, Lautaro Martinez, and Marcus Thuram were on the scoresheet for the hosts.

Meanwhile, Santiago Castro scored a consolation goal for the visiting team.

Bisseck, who took Francesco Acerbi’s place at the back, excelled alongside Alessandro Bastoni and Manuel Akanji.

Though Inter ultimately failed to keep a clean sheet, the German delivered a commanding display.

As such, he’s expected to overtake both Stefan de Vrij and Acerbi in the pecking order.

Asked whether Inter proved to be the strongest team in Serie A, Bisseck replied: “Talking isn’t enough.

“If we always play as we did against Bologna, with the quality we have, I think we are a very strong team.

“But we have to prove it every match.”

Then, Bisseck discussed emerging changes in modern football.

“Football has changed,” he added. “And even defenders, especially in our system, have to contribute going forward.

“With the players we have, there’s a lot of quality on the ball.

“And if we show it consistently like we did today, I hope we can demonstrate many great things.”

Bisseck is likely to retain his place in the starting lineup when Inter take on Parma on Wednesday.

Indeed, Chivu’s men will face the Crusaders in their first away game of 2026, seeking their sixth consecutive league win.
