The day after Germany’s 4-0 friendly win over Finland, the two sides met again in a 2x25-minute training ground match early on Monday.

Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann had already confirmed on Sunday night that the game would take place, with the aim of giving players who featured little or not at all in the first friendly valuable match practice. Finland also fielded a second-string side.

The German team controlled proceedings throughout, but created very few clear-cut chances.

Leon Goretzka came closest in the first half, when his header was cleared off the line.

After the break, substitute Jonas Urbig produced a strong save early on, before Waldemar Anton struck the post for Germany.

Ultimately, Germany won 1-0 after Finland’s Doni Arifi diverted David Raum’s corner into his own net.

Germany: Nübel (Urbig) - Anton, Rüdiger, Thiaw, Raum - Stiller (Amiri), Groß - Sané, Goretzka, Leweling (Beier) - Woltemade.
