Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck and midfielder Kristjan Asllani both impressed with their displays against Hellas Verona.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, highlight the young duo’s performances in the 5-0 Serie A victory for the Nerazzurri.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi did not hesitate to rotate his squad in yesterday’s match.
The Nerazzurri coach was missing a couple big names in the form of Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu.
Moreover, Inzaghi was mindful of all the important matches just around the corner. Inter have clashes with RB Leipzig in the Champions League and Fiorentina in Serie A on the way.
Therefore, the Inter coach decided to keep some players fresh.
Therefore, Kristjan Asllani started in midfield with Calhanoglu out with a thigh problem. And Yann Bisseck got the nod on the right of Inter’s back three over Benjamin Pavard.
In the view of the Corriere, both Bisseck and Asllani were among their team’s outstanding performers in yesterday’s win.
Inter hardly missed the more senior squad members as they thrashed Verona.
Defender Bisseck put in a strong showing at both ends of the pitch.
The German got everything right defensively. He was not phased by the physical Verona strike pairing of Casper Tengstedt and Daniel Mosquera.
And Bisseck was very effective as he got forward.
The 23-year-old scored his first goal of the season with an improbable turn and finish to round off the 5-0 win for Inter.
Meanwhile, midfielder Asllani put in a solid shift to help Inter control the match.
The Albanian looked comfortable dropping into the defensive line and showing his passing range.
Then, it was Asllani who set up Stefan de Vrij for Inter’s fourth goal. The 22-year-old’s set piece taking was also on show.
