Gipuzkoa rallies behind Real Sociedad with Alderdi Eder fan zone for Copa del Rey final | OneFootball

Real Sociedad face Atlético de Madrid in Saturday’s Copa del Rey final. Gipuzkoa is set to rally behind them, with Donostia hosting a central fan zone at Alderdi Eder as the club chase a fourth Copa.

AS reports that plans were unveiled on Tuesday in Plaza de Gipuzkoa. Real president Jokin Aperribay, Gipuzkoa’s deputy general Eider Mendoza and Donostia mayor Jon Insausti attended.

From 15:00 to 01:00, the town hall area will mirror La Cartuja’s fan zone, with live links to Seville and two giant screens on the façade. Food and drink stalls will be contactless only.

Entertainment includes Eñaut Elorrieta, Go!azen, Xabi Solano, Gozategi and DJ Jonkass, presented by Iban García, Gabriela Uriarte, Miren Nogales and Álex Padilla. For children, Makusi gunea by the harbour offers inflatables and games from 11:00 to 19:00.

Aperribay urged supporters to enjoy the occasion in Donostia, Gipuzkoa and Seville while respecting the city, its institutions and the rival. He said the team travel with feeling, hope and determination, aiming to play a great match and pursue a historic triumph.

Mendoza underlined humility, teamwork, the academy, respect, pride, solidarity and community as core Real values, and said she was sure they would achieve it, citing the team’s trajectory. Insausti said Alderdi Eder will be the main meeting point for txuri-urdin fans of all ages.

Beyond Donostia, large screens and fan spaces will appear in Zumarraga, Tolosa, Zarautz, Lasarte-Oria, Zumaia, Hondarribia, Eibar, Elgoibar, Legazpi, Azkoitia and Urretxu.
