Girona ‘close’ to deal for Man City talent | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Girona are closing on a January deal for Manchester City starlet Claudio Echeverri.

This comes amid the understanding that the Argentine is ready to cut short his loan stint in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, to take his talents to Catalunya for the 2nd half of the campaign.

Echeverri, a talented attacking midfielder/winger, was actually hotly tipped for a move to Girona over the summer.

In the end, no such transfer was forthcoming, with the 19-year-old having instead opted to continue his development with the aforementioned Bayer Leverkusen.

With just three starts to his name across the season to date, however, Echeverri is already seeking a new challenge.

And as much, it would appear, is set to come in La Liga.

As per a report from transfer journalist Nil Sola of Cadena SER:

‘Girona and Manchester City appear close to reaching an agreement, which would allow the young prospect to finally play under Míchel in the second half of the season.’
