Girona star emerges as summer target for Ajax | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga outfit Girona has made his way onto the summer transfer wishlist of Eredivisie heavyweights Ajax.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who, citing Dutch media sources, point towards Daley Blind as the player in question.

Blind is for his part fresh off playing a leading role for Girona once more this past season.

All told, the veteran stopper racked up 40 appearances across all competitions, proving himself an important figure on and off the pitch alike.

And such exploits, evidently, have not gone unnoticed on the part of those back at his former club.

As per MD:

‘Daley Blind could be living out his final weeks as a Girona player. According to Dutch media, Ajax, the club where he trained and spent two spells before joining Montilivi, is seriously considering his return.’

Ajax are already understood to have made contact with Blind’s representatives, to gather an understanding of the financial requirements involved in a deal for the 35-year-old.
