Giuntoli ‘in advanced talks’ with West Ham before Atalanta deal | OneFootball

Alfredo Pedullà reports that Cristiano Giuntoli was in advanced talks with West Ham before agreeing terms with Atalanta.

The former Napoli and Juventus director was said to be close to a deal with the Premier League club, with a strong chance of reaching agreement.

West Ham’s struggles culminated in relegation to the Championship. That slide, together with Atalanta’s interest, ended negotiations, and La Dea then finalised terms with the 54-year-old.

Giuntoli was sacked by Juventus last summer and remained without a club throughout the 2025-26 campaign.

Atalanta are expected to confirm his appointment in the coming days.

The Nerazzurri will play in the Conference League next season and are expected to hire Maurizio Sarri as head coach. The Tuscan previously worked with Giuntoli at Napoli and would replace Raffaele Palladino at the Gewiss Stadium.
