The second round of Gold Cup quarter-finals kicked off on Sunday, with Canada facing Guatemala and the USA taking on Costa Rica.
Here's how the action unfolded in these quarter-final games.
Scorers: Calvo 12', Martínez 71' ; Luna 43', Arfsten 47'
Penalties: ✅✅❌✅❌✅ USA - Costa Rica ✅❌✅✅❌❌
Costa Rica were awarded a penalty inside ten minutes after Max Arfsten took out Kenneth Vargas with a lunging tackle from behind.
Francisco Calvo stepped up and struck the penalty through the goalkeeper's arms and into the bottom-right corner, giving Costa Rica an early lead.
However, the United States were awarded a penalty of their own as Juan Pablo Vargas' challenge caught the back of Malik Tillman's ankle, sending him to the spot.
Tillman was denied by the outside of the post, resulting in a stunning save from Keylor Navas on the follow-up.
Late in the first-half, the United States finally scored an equalizer as Diego Luna scored his first international goal with the help of a heavy deflection which sent Navas the wrong way.
The Americans grabbed the lead 90 seconds into the second-half after Max Arfsten redeemed himself, slotting the ball into the bottom-left corner for his first international goal.
Costa Rica equalised in the 70th minute as Carlos Mora's shot deflected back to him after an initial save, allowing Mora to find Alonso Martínez for an easy tap-in.
So, after an action-packed 90 minutes, the match headed straight to penalties.
Both sides scored three of their first five penalties.
But in sudden death, US goalkeeper Matt Freese made an excellent diving save, allowing Damion Downs to clinch a dramatic win for the Americans.
Ultimately, after a back-and-forth quarter-final, Mauricio Pochettino's side overcame Costa Rica to face Guatemala in the Gold Cup semi-finals.
Scorers: David 29'; Rubin 69'
Penalties: ✅✅✅✅❌✅❌ Canada - Guatemala ✅✅✅✅❌✅✅
Guatemala pulled off the shock of the tournament so far after defeating Canada on penalties to reach the semi-finals of the Gold Cup.
Sitting 106th in the most recent FIFA rankings, the disparity did not deter Los Chapines from standing tall against one of the regional powerhouses to reach the semi-final for the first time in over three decades.
Tajon Buchanan had the first sight of goal on the night when he was left unmarked to shoot inside Guatemala's area but lashed his shot well over the crossbar.
Herrera was the villain moments later after he tripped Oluwaseyi inside the area for a penalty, which Jonathan David converted into the bottom corner.
Canada went down to 10 men just before half-time when Jacob Shaffelburg caught Stheven Robles with an elbow to the face.
Guatemala took control after the restart and eventually equalised as Rubio Rubin met Oscar Santis' cross with a thumping header.
In an even final 20 minutes, neither side could find a decisive second goal and the game went straight to penalties.
Both teams scored their first four penalties and missed their fifth, sending the shootout to sudden death. Luc de Fougerolles struck Canada's seventh against the crossbar and José Morales slotted the decisive penalty right down the middle to win it for Guatemala.
