Gonçalo Sousa and Tiago Andrade among FC Porto’s surprise picks for Stuttgart | OneFootball

O Jogo reports that Francesco Farioli has called up Porto B duo Gonçalo Sousa and Tiago Andrade for FC Porto’s trip to Stuttgart, the first leg of the Europa League last 16. Sousa, 19, could make his debut in the competition.

An FC Porto academy product, Sousa is a Portugal youth international with 43 caps. The forward or right winger has been a standout for FC Porto B in the II Liga, scoring five goals in 21 matches this season.

He has one senior appearance for FC Porto, coming on in the 83rd minute of a 3-0 win at Chaves in the 32nd round of the I Liga 23/24. Last season he was also called by Vítor Bruno for the Supertaça against Sporting in Aveiro.

Andrade, used as a winger on both flanks, has been at FC Porto since 2017 after joining from Anadia. He has made 16 appearances for the B team this season, scoring one goal.

Unlike Sousa, Andrade had not previously been called into the senior squad.
